William Yarnall Obituary

William M. "Mac" Yarnall William M. "Mac" Yarnall, age 82 of New Castle, DE went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 6, 2004, at Hillside Center in Wilmington, surrounded by his family. Born in West Grove, PA on September 23, 1922, Mac was the son of the late William M. Yarnall and Miriam Ridge Yarnall. He was a 1940 graduate of Kennett Consolidated High School and earned his certification as a professional bricklayer from Williamson Trade School, Media, PA, in 1942. A member of Bricklayers Union Local #1 in New Castle for over 50 years, he served as financial secretary of the union for 42 years. Mac was a US Marine Corps veteran of World War II and a member of Joseph B. Stahl Post #30 American Legion. He was a parishioner of Holy Spirit Church in New Castle. In his leisure time, Mac greatly enjoyed bowling in the AFL/CIO League, hunting, camping and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Christine Kwiatkowski Yarnall; 3 sons, Wayne M. Yarnall and his wife, Lynn, of Middletown, William M. Yarnall and his wife, Elizabeth, of Charlotte, NC and Jerry M. Yarnall and his wife, Kristie, of Newark; brother, Warren Yarnall of AL; sister, Margaret Martinez of Wilmington; 7 grandchildren, Brett, Kylie and Amanda Yarnall, Tylitha Curles, Heath Yarnall, Kimberly Mears and David Yarnall; and 8 great grandchildren. The family extends their gratitude to the staff of Hillside Center for their tender and loving care of Mac during his stay there. Friends may call 11-12 noon on Monday, December 13, 2004, at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, Wilmington Manor, New Castle. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30 pm at Holy Spirit R.C. Church, 12 Winder Road, Garfield Park, New Castle. Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
